The husband and wife team of Bob and Lauren Pecher founded B&L Photo Lab in 1982. B&L Photo Lab’s mission is the preservation of your family's photographic history. B&L Photo Lab specializes in copy and restoration and custom photo finishing (black and white and color) with an emphasis on silver gelatin fiber printing. Bob’s career as a professional photographer and lab technician began in 1970. Since 1982, he has concentrated on copy and restoration and custom photo finishing. Bob uses his photographer’s training and his years of lab experience to enhance his restorations and custom prints.
When Lauren and Bob started B&L Photo, a major area of photography calling for black and white archival prints was the field of copy and restoration. They began doing their restoration work with view cameras and airbrushes. They have since evolved to computers and digital cameras. B&L Photo was a trailblazer in computer artwork in the early 1990s.
B&L Photo has a complete black and white wet darkroom. In addition, B&L Photo uses the latest digital cameras, scanners, film recorders, ink jet printers, computers and software. This combination of the new and traditional allows B&L Photo to provide its customers with restorations that were nearly impossible to do before. It also allows for greater artistic freedom for fine art and portrait photographers. See Why should you choose B&L Photo Lab? in the FAQ section.
